Special Options

At Clovelly Park Primary School, we offer two Special Options classes designed for students requiring significant curriculum adjustments. These classes are part of our mainstream school and operate inclusively, giving students opportunities to learn alongside their peers.

Enrolment

Enrolment in a Special Options class is determined externally by a panel coordinated by the Department for Education’s Regional Office. This process ensures that placements are aligned with each student’s unique needs.

Junior Primary Special Options – O2

Our Junior Primary Special Options class supports up to eight students in Foundation, Year 1, or Year 2, who are living with an Intellectual Disability. Each class is staffed by a teacher and a school support officer to provide focused assistance. Students may have additional diagnoses, and their learning goals are documented in their One Plan, with educational expectations tailored to their needs.

Primary Special Options – G4

The Primary Special Options class supports up to twelve students in Years 3 to 6, who are living with an Intellectual Disability and may also have additional diagnoses. This class is staffed by a teacher and a school support officer. Each student’s learning goals are outlined in their One Plan, with individual adjustments to support their educational progress.

These specialised classes provide a structured, supportive environment to help students thrive academically and socially.
